Roll Model Classic Carry-On

The large wheels and durability more than justify the investment. I'm sure this latest iteration has more features than my original (Kickstarter) version, so am just commenting on the value of overall design - especially for international travel. Despite years of heavy use, it still rolls effortlessly over rough cobblestones, high curbs, gravel roads, mud, snow, jagged ice - basically, any surface conditions I've encountered on various continents.

I've not bought expensive luggage so this may be a matter of packing familiarity with premium brands; however, this carry-on has everything it needs and nothing it doesn't. A beautiful design and aesthetic with minimal, no frills practicality. I love it more than my own family I am travelling to visit.

Seems like a sturdy piece. I noticed the size is smaller than the usual 21” carryons. Maybe could’ve captured a bit more space. Otherwise not bad.

Best luggage I ever had - it’s my fifth the G-RO included.

Only improvement I can see would be better (mesh) pockets along both sides of the inner main compartment. The one shallow pocket there not particularly usable.

Vey good product but very heavy, wich loses its effectiveness with the weights authiruzed in cabin baggage

Great bag. Quality feels high. Lots of really useful storage space, with a large main compartment and a good secondary laptop compartment. Plenty of internal compartmentalisation as well. Both secured with a single TSA lock. The water bottle carrier is cool additional feature. All rounded of with those statement wheels!

I had the first generation G-RO Carry-On and loved it. This one from SOTTOS is actually an improvement with better front pockets for example. Quality is excellent

Great suitcase. I want the exact same suitcase in a 24-25 inch check-in version.

Every single roller bag I've had failed at the wheels. They are always too small for curbs, cobblestones, and rough terrain in my travels. I was SO EXCITED to hear about SOTTOS and their big-wheeled bags. I can never go back...but now I CAN go over cobblestones, curbs, and unpaved roads with my amazing suitcase!

I'm very impressed, but we're in the midst of our first trip using them. Very solid construction. Very capacious for a carryon. Great lock design.

An awesome bag with great functionality and a stylish look that gets comments. Wheels handle cobblestones and curbs like a champ. Build quality is lower than the original G-Ro bags with 3 part frame construction that's inconsistent. Several exterior zippers have no way to lock or secure. I've had the back pocket unzip on me twice from being set on the floor, spilling contents. Great bag overall, will see if it handles long-term regular use, but external pocket zippers need a re-think.

The quality of this item has been significantly reduced from the original G-RO design. The wheels squeaked on the first use. Would not recommend.

The bag is definitely designed to roll easily and over things that give a traditional deidng a hard time. It's easier on the arms and joints. There's plenty of storage space as well. I'm a little disappointed in Sottos' customer service though...they don't respond to emails and calls after initially resolving a shipping problem. My wheel makes a grinding/rubbing sound that is pretty loud and abnormal but I can't get any help. If they had good customer service I would rate it higher. But I can't see having any warranty value if they don't answer...its a bit concerning after paying nearly $600.

Love the huge wheels. Handles all terrain and stairs well. Can’t push it though while upright as there are not 4 wheels that change direction. So it’s heavy in a long walk to pull it while angled.

great trolley, with big wheels for all terain, like the G-RO but without the powerbank, and cabling, (I did not use that anyway), but it does not contain a wrap element for suits, that I would have appreciated.

I have two original G-Ro bags, both the carryon shown here and the larger checked bag. They are fantastic! Well made and the large wheels make them so much easier to travel with. I was very disappointed when G-Ro went out of business. I’m very happy to see their lost IP has made a reappearance. I hope this company will stick around.

Over 30 round trip flights per year. I give my luggage a work out and have tried all types. This is the absolute best carry-on of all time. I had an original G-Ro and just bought my second recently only because British Air managed to destroy my G-Ro.

Get rid of the calm-shells. Super inefficient with the space in the middle and the zippered divider. Get rid of the traditional 4-wheeled models. Wheels snap off on rough terrain and don't roll on gravel, snow, sand, etc. Also, clamshells don't fit.in the open position on many hotel luggage stands meaning that, if you want to keep your case open, you are either using up desk or counter space, or putting it on the floor.... hello bedbugs!

This bag has extremely well designed pockets, from the lap top pocket on the front, the book pocket and the little stash pocket for ear buds etc. Love the water bottle pocket and passport pocket on the back.

The material is very durable and stays looking good through a lot of abuse.

The expansion zipper is a welcome feature when you need extra space.

Best design ever. Get one. It will change your life!

I bought the ORIGINAL bag by a company called G-RO. I love the design and functionality. However, I’m SUPER disappointed that they sold because the bag was supposed to have a lifetime warranty and now I am no longer covered by it. I works have to purchase a whole new bag for full price. And as much as I like the bag, $600 is way more than I paid for mine and I won’t be paying that again for a bag that might also lose its warranty.

I am a privileged owner of two G-ROs. So appreciable on the difficult sidewalks of some countries. Even when full, the suitcases feel light to pull, it slides like a sled on the snow. Holidays ? Yes, but only with G-ROs and now Sottos. Nothing else !

As classy as well constructed can be!

I wanted to love this, but it has a few key issues that caused me to return it:
1. While 9" deep when empty, once packed it quickly shifts up to 10+" at the top. As such, if overly aggressive gate agents try to fit this into the 22x14x9" sizing bin at the gate, it will fail.
2. The zipper, while beefy, warps at the bottom because of the odd-shaped opening, making it less-than-easy to start the zipping process.
3. The clasps on the internal netting get in the way of the zipper at the top so you have to hold them in while zipping, making it harder to zip there too.

2 wheels are so much better than 4 wheels, and sadly most are going away so I was very hopeful for this to work, but it failed the size and the zip tests for me so has to go back.

The amount of space in the carry on is not as much as expected. Also I had a recent trip and I own the g-ro six suitcase. It was fine by itself but when I also had to carry a checked bag bag they were rolling in different directions. The same would be true for this bag so it doesn’t suit me. I love the wheels and this was my dream bag. I search all over to see if it would be produced again so I could purchase but I think I need a four wheeler that turns smoothly with another bag. Also the tipping with weekender bag on top which my current carry does not do.
These are my reasons for return . Trying to maneuver on and off train in Europe was hard.

My wife and I purchased 2 Roll Models after previously being G-RO customers. We have traveled to 5 different continents with our "roll anywhere" bags. Most of the time, we don't even check bags because this luggage fits so much stuff in it. From short corporate trips, to glamping, to French and Italian cobblestone streets - this bag just always works. It's fantastic for organizing all your stuff, with tons of pockets and compartments. 5 stars from both of us. Waiting for their checked bag to come out for longer trips!

Build materials and quality are superb! Maneuverability is outstanding. This piece will replace the one I use for work. I might use it for leisure, as well!
